RELOADING: MY RELOADING PROCEDURE

First note that I numbered my dies with a Sharpie Marker for easy identification.

1. Install die #1 – ‘Carbide Sizing Die’ to knock out primer and size cases. • Push down lever to move ram to the highest position. • Screw in die until it just touches the shell holder. • Lock down the die. 2. Run cases through die.

3. Clean out primer pocket

4. Prime all cases using Lee Auto Prime

5. Install die #2 – ‘Expanding Die’ to flair the case mouth. • Push down lever to move ram to the highest position. • Screw in die until it just touches the shell holder, then back out 1 full turn. • Rotate screw clockwise to increase the fair. 6. Charge the cases using ‘Lee Perfect Powder Measure’: My load: Sierra 210 gr bullet w/ 20 gr AA #9 Powder

7. Install die #3 – ‘Bullet Seat and Feed Die’ to seat the bullet • Seat a charged case in the shell holder and manually seat a bullet into the case mouth. • Raise the ram until cartridge enters the die, and adjust seating screw until cartridge length is 1.610” long. • Seat all bullets but do not crimp at this stage.

8. Install die #4 – ‘Factory Crimp Die’ to crimp and post-size cases. • Push down lever to move ram to the highest position. • Screw in die until it just touches the shell holder. • Back out adjusting screw. • Load cartridge in shell holder, raise ram fully and turn adjusting screw until it just touches the case mouth. • Back out cartridge slightly and rotate screw: • ½ turn for light crimp, or 1 full turn for heavy crimp The 44 magnum should get a heavy crimp.
