My response to a facebook anti

THE ANTI...
Don't see the point of killing squirrels unless they are a menace to someone's property. They want to live their little lives too.

MY RESPONSE...
They are tree rats. We hunt them for sport, then eat them. If not for hunters, this property, which hunters pay for would be developed and all the habitat would be gone. Hunters are the real environmentalists. Because of us they can live free until harvested by hunters. A head shot is much more humane than being torn to pieces by a hawk or a fishercat. Squirrels in the wild don't live long lives, with or without hunters.

Hunting is also necessary for national defense. Great warriors like Audy Murphy learned to shoot as a child, hunting squirrels and rabbits. I shot Expert with the M-16 the first time at a military range. Our nation will be ill-equipped to defend itself if there is ever a generation without small game hunters.
